to Big Green Wolverine Band
Welcome! If you're seeing this group for the first time, it is
probably because you have attended the first fundraising meeting for
the Band and Chorus trip to Williamsburg in April of 2008. Here are a
list of some of the things we discussed at the meeting:

Fundraisers coming up:

Right now - Save your can tabs!!! Get everyone else to save them
too! The tabs are solid aluminum and can be sold to a recycler by the
pound. Saving the tabs does not prohibit you from returning the can
for the deposit.

Continuing through the summer - If you are in a location on a main
road, consider putting a barrel on your front lawn with a big sign to
indicate that drivers should drop off their returnables. Many people
would rather ditch them on you than return them on their own! Be sure
to let them know it is to support the Schenck Band and Chorus trip.

July 5 - Bottle Drive in East Millinocket and Medway. Please respond
if you have a truck and/or are willing to help out.

July 12 - Yard sale in the town-wide yard sale (during Centennial Week
in East Millinocket). We need to start collecting things to sell, and
if you have a craft item to donate for a raffle please let us know.
We will be raffling an afghan. We will also sell baked goods and
drinks. Please let me know if you can work this yardsale. Ask your
friends, family, and neighbors if they have a small amount of items to
donate that they may not want to try to sell on their own.

Other news:

PARADE JULY 14 AT 9 A.M.... I have signed the band up to march in the
Centennial Parade. Stay tuned for a practice session or two - we have
lots of 8th graders joining us! This parade is vital to our
VISIBILITY!! You want the town to know you're here! This will help
in your fundraising endeavors..

Contacts - we will be contacting you by phone and email to let you
know the wheres and whens of fundraising. Seniors - I will be giving
you a list of names that you will be responsible to contact. Please
let me know if and when you will be out of town for an extended
period.

And remember - YOU ARE RAISING YOUR OWN FARE!! Each student's trip
will cost around $400 so the harder you work, the less you will
ultimately have to pay!

See you soon,
-Mrs. Bryant
