Extra March Meeting.

We will be having an extra meeting, at the Brewhouse and Kitchen in Guildhall Walk, on Tuesday 31st. This is to welcome JJ and Ruth from USA and Ellen from Norway who are passing through on their way to Eastercon. We’re also going to show them something of historic and literary Portsmouth during the afternoon.
The plan is to meet up on the Seafront outside of the Clarence Pier Brewers Fayre at 13:00 (car parking in the Clarence Pier car park or the Seafront Esplanade if Clarence Pier is full). Buses to or near Clarence Pier are the 18, 25, 700, H1, 23.
From there, we are going to stroll along the Hot Walls to the Round Tower and then on to Portsmouth Point to give a glimpse of the Harbour and the Dock Yard. We’ll then wander back to the Round Tower to stop for refreshments (probably a cream tea or two) at the Canteen Cafe. We’ll then return to Clarence Pier, and our overseas visitors will get into cars and get a guided tour along the Front and take in some of Southsea’s literary history.
We will reassemble at the Brewhouse for the evening.
Approximate timetable:
13:00 Clarence Pier
14:30 Canteen
16:00 Split up for drive / Brewhouse.
16:30 /17:00 Reassemble for drunken debauchery at the Brewhouse.
It is anticipated that some members will be along for just the afternoon, some just for the evening and some for both. It would be a huge help if you could let me know who is coming along for the afternoon/ whole day and who is coming to the pub in the evening so we can book tables.
Just in case one of our drivers has to drop out it would be a huge help if you could let us know if you are driving down and are happy to be a reserve driver for the tour. We only have enough drivers for our overseas guests and guides.
