Hello Shrouded Radiance!

This announcement is the All Call for the position of Domain Coordinator for Shrouded Radiance - MD-001-D.

All interested parties should read through the following, and submit an application, including all of the information that I'll be listing below:

• Identification: Name, Membership Number

• Contact Information: Email, Phone Number - These will be redacted when distributed to the electorate

• Objective: A sentence or two describing what your goals are during your term of office.

• Plan of Action: A paragraph or two detailing how you intend to accomplish the goals stated in your objective.

• Experience: A resume of positions held within Mind’s Eye Society as well as any relevant Non-Club Experience. Applicants must describe how they meet the minimum criteria for the position.

• Disciplinary Actions (from the last 2 years): Please see the Full Disclosure Policy below and the Disciplinary Action Section of the Membership Handbook for more information.  

• A statement asserting that the applicant is a paid member of MES

Instructions for Submission:

Applications must be sent to all of the following by no later than 11:59:59 pm on Wednesday, February 16:

Please use the subject line “Application for DC of Shrouded Radiance - MD-001-D” for your email.  Incorrect or incomplete submissions will be considered as though not having been submitted, so please double-check your submission before you send it out. Applications must be submitted to all three proctors to be valid. Late submissions will be disqualified.  

You should receive an email confirmation of your application. If you do not receive confirmation within 48 hours please contact the aRC Elections at arc.el...@ec.mindseyesociety.org

Projected Timeline:  While these times may be extended to deal with any issues that arise or problems that come up, the projected timeline for the election is:

One week for the Application Period (Feb. 10 - 16, 2022)

One week for the Review/Q&A Period (Feb. 17 - 23, 2022)

One week for the Voting Period (Feb. 24 - Mar. 2, 2022)

All phases begin at 12:00:00a and end at 11:59:59p on the dates specified.

Important Note: In order to be considered eligible for the election, the applicant must meet the following criteria!

• Completed Membership and Coordinator Standards, or a stated intention to complete within thirty days.

• Valid Current Membership

• Valid Membership in Shrouded Radiance - MD-001-D (Membership will be determined via the online membership database. If your entry does not have you assigned to the correct domain, your application will not be accepted. Contact your DC to have your entry updated.)

For additional information on the elections process, I encourage you to look into Chapter Seven of the membership Handbook found at MES Handbook (click on the Current Membership Handbook for the most up-to-date information).

Hello Shrouded Radiance,

It doesn't appear that there have been any applicants to take over the DC position for MD-001-D. 

I will need to take steps to shutter the domain if there is not a volunteer to maintain the position.

I took on the job of making sure the reports were handled.  (I dropped the ball the last few months but can catch up ASAP.) Since the peak of the pandemic seems to have passed, we can actually start having conversations about live games again, but that does require we have people willing to step forward to the officer positions.  I am willing to help anyone with teaching or mentoring, as are others I suspect, but this is something we should all discuss as members.

Out of sheer curiosity, even though I am no longer a member up there, it seems a lot of Domains are switching to Discord to facilitate communication, any thought given to this?  I would love to see you guys back and work out some ties if you start playing again.

Right now it seems like most people have been busy with other matters along with a lack of volunteers.

Without someone to step up as coordinator, we are in dire straits.  Brian helped keep us afloat (for about twice as long as he initially volunteered for) while I took up the DST spot, but at this point, there is very little pressure to keep the domain, from the domain.  We did switch to discord back in 2020, ran a bunch of stuff, but most folks burned out over the first year of the pandemic.  Last summer Brian and I briefly got folks back together live, but Delta/Omicron broke that momentum fairly hard.

My impression is we could rouse maybe a dozen people on a good day for a game if we ran one. We'd have to build up from a deep hole we are now in, and there are a lot of people who have decided they don't want to be in the MES as a national org, and won't be back regardless of who is running things here.   Any growth has to come from new people. If we don't even have the energy to provide a DC, we certainly don't have the energy to recruit.  

I would be very happy to be wrong, but this is my understanding of the current situation.

Hello Shrouded Radiance,

I'm writing to check in via email with the domain.

At the moment I am looking for someone to step up to take over the DC position and keep up on reporting for the domain. 

It's not just about the reporting though. I've had a few emails from people seeking games in our region and it's the responsibility of the DC to be the first point of contact for potential new membership. Returning members who may have stepped away while life was uncertain over the last couple of years will be looking to the DC's to find out where to go to meet up with old friends.

If I don't hear from someone by the time my report is due on April 20th I will be reporting that Shrouded Radiance is temporarily closed.
