My hearty Congratulations to Flt.Lt.Sridhar and his team.
Good job, such initiatives kick of collective progress and I hope there are many such things we can do for our society.

>Dear friends,

I have just completed a small project under this scheme.

We have installed the panel and bulk charger at the school in a village called Regula Lanka. We have distributed 35 lamps to the children there.

The installation proved to be a cake walk and was much easier than we thought.

The following are the costs involved.

1. Each lamp will cost Rs.200/-

2. The cost of the Solar panel (20 Watts rating) and the bulk charger (10 ports) was Rs. 3500/-

3. The bulk charger, though supplied with 10 ports and leads, could only charge 5 lamps at a time as the solar panel supplied can only manage that much.

Initially we were told that the Solar panel and the charger will cost 2000/- and would be able to charge 20 lights at a time. But the reality was different.

Please get the whole project clearly worked out to avoid any disappointments.

The web site claims that in Rs.2500/- you can serve 10 children. Our experince was different as indicated above.

Finally, a word of appreciation is a must for the entire initiative, particularly for the ease of installation and use.

Successfully,

Flt.Lt.Sridhar

Dear Friends   ,

Please recall my alluding to an initiative enabling the provision of  a  energy efficient ,reliable and long lasting study light for  children.

I would like to share with you the idea of providing a very useful Device  to the school
going children from villages, low income group urban settlements and  who are far removed from the electric grid power through your help to enable their attempt to become self dependent and educated .

The project is about banishing the expensive and unhealthy
kerosene lit lamps and provide the children going to school with clean LED

light powered by solar or grid power through  a simple and ubiquitous cell phone charger.

I invite you to go through the site www.onechildonelight.org and encourage

your contacts, acquaintances and ofcourse broadcast among the groups you
belong to through your good offices.

The site is enabled with the ecommerce transactions through paypal and purchase of the light could be done online.

Should you need any clarifications, please don’t hesitate to get in touch
with me or Sanjay Gadhalay  whose coordinates are below
