2 day BHPA Emergency Parachute System (EPS) training course

Folks, at the last AGM it was agreed that the SHPF should encourage a number of individuals to attend a 2 day BHPA Emergency Parachute System (EPS) training course, normally held annually during October/November in Derby, and to provide financial support to those who attend. The hope is that those who attend will assist at SHPF and club repacking events and eventually become BHPA qualified EPS repackers.
The two day course fee is £250.00 and a course is going to be held at Aerofix, Bradwell, on 5/6 March 2016 (the same weekend as the SHPF organised Club Coach Course being held in Edinburgh).
A SHPF committee meeting is planned for later this month to agree the financial support to be provided to SHPF members who attend, but it is probable that a large percentage, or all, of the course fee will be paid by the SHPF to members wishing to attend.

SHPF 2 Day EPS Course – SHPF Financial Assistance
The SHPF would like to encourage suitable members to attend a BHPA 2 day Emergency Parachute System (EPS) course, and then to progress towards becoming a BHPA registered repacker.
The attendance fee, charged by the BHPA, for the 2 day course is currently £250.00.
Preferably, the financial assistance will be given to members who have regularly attended SHPF, or SHPF affiliated club, EPS reserve repacking events and displayed an aptitude for reserve parachute repacking by assisting others to repack their reserves.
To be eligible for financial assistance a person should have been a SHPF member for at least 3 years. The maximum financial assistance an individual can claim is £250.00. The financial assistance can only be claimed after the individual has successfully attended the 2 day course.
The financial assistance which can be claimed is based on past (over the previous 3 years) and future (over the next two years) attendance at SHPF Reserve Repack events.
For example, an attendee will get £50.00 for each of the previously ran and future SHPF repack events listed below that he/she has attended. If he/she has attended the last 3 Ratho Repack events and attended the 1 day EPS course they will be eligible to receive a £200 subsidy. If the person then attends the 2017 Ratho Repack they can claim a further £50.00.
A person who regularly attends SHPF EPS events should be able to reclaim the full 2 day course fee.
