I published a new video yesterday which compares IE8 (beta1) and Firefox 3.0.1:
http://showmedo.com/videos/video?name=3150000&fromSeriesID=315

This is one of the first videos I'm preparing under my 'ProCasts' banner, I've started to professionally screencast to produce promotional and tutorial videos for companies:
http://procasts.co.uk/

Since I'm doing this professionally now, I'm very keen to receive feedback. I used new pro-audio equipment and CamTasia for both the example videos (http://procasts.co.uk/examples.html). I'll be using the same tools for future Club videos too.

Please critique, constructive feedback would be very useful. If I need to brush-up my approach then it'll be better to be told that here than when out approaching companies who have never heard of me :-)

Cheers,
Ian.

I have really had a hard time watching videos on ShowMeDo, a lot of
buffering the past 2 days. I was able to watch the video on procasts
just fine. I enjoyed & learned a few things in the video & the
callouts you were using were well done. I'm sure potential customers
will get a good feel of what you can do.

Good luck on ProCasts!!!!

hi dennis,

i was getting the same problems with my belkin router setup while ian
was claiming full download speeds (400k+). On investigation it looks
like a DNS-server issue - some old cached values, usually
ISP-provided, are now outdated. I switched my router to using a couple
of public DNS-servers (verizon 151.197.0.38 & 151.197.0.39) and my
downloads zoomed up to normal. Is v. annoying to have lost whole days
to this. I'm hoping it will fade out very quickly.

Ian, I am surprised about the quality of that video. I remember a
conference back in the days when ShowMeDo didn't exist ( a few months
ago :) ). I remember suggesting to you about how important
presentation is regarding paid services. It seems you took it very
serious this time.

People like flashy things. Those zooming in and out, clever cuts in
the editing, and clear confident voice makes the difference in having
thousands of people hearing it out of presentation (and later finding
interest in content), and just a few interested in the contents.

As soon as the screencast started, I said to myself 'This is made with
Camstasia Studio'. I have no negative comment on the presentation of
it whatsoever.

I am guessing ShowMeDo Services is substituted by ProCasts.co.uk

Good luck!

Cool, thanks for the comments! ProCasts does indeed take over from Services. Annoyingly ie8 beta 2, released yesterday, fixes some issues i'd shown. doh!
