I have a couple questions on club showmedo...

1) Do you need a club showmedo account, if so why, to make videos?

2) If you make videos do you get access to club showmedo (that would
be great, sense I am to poor to afford club showmedo :( :()?

3) How long do videos usually stay accessible to ONLY club showmedo
members?

4) If I make videos can I make it available to all viewers (not
restrict it to only club showmedo (I believe knowledge should be
free :)))?

Thanks for the help! :)

Oh another question, might be controversial...

5) Why not have a ad paid version for those, like me, who can not
afford club showmedo? I know I would be fine with an add before and
after a video as well as on the sides of the website and even a pop up
or two.

Those are good questions...

You *do not* need a Club ShowMeDo account to make videos - see the Add Video link in the navigation bar for instructions.  You do need a normal (free) login of course.

If you make videos for ShowMeDo then they *are free for everyone* and you are upgraded to Club membership, so you can watch all the Club videos for free.  This plan is exactly designed for people like you who are happy to share their knowledge and are interested in watching our Club videos.  All you have to do is make one useful video that we publish.

We do plan to release the Club videos into the public domain over time, but not yet.

We don't off an ad-supported Club membership because...will an advertiser get $60 revenue from you by showing you their ads?  If you're tight on cash to spend with us, why will an advertiser benefit financially from paying us to advertise?  If not, it isn't in the advertisers interest to pay us to advertise.

I hope that clears everything up,
Ian.

Thanks for the quick reply :). For the adds it could still work I may not buy new products in the sense of stuff I do not already use, but I still use such things as laundry soup, clothes, etc. So it still would be beneficial for advertisers :)

Laundry soup, clothes, etc. does not make sense in a open source
software videos site. So aforementioned product advertisers would
never want advertise here. Only commercial software/tools developers.

Again, if there is an advertisement-version of the site, it wouldn't
make sense to advertise in it, because the users that have the money
for software/tools/education are at the ad-free-version of the site.

Those where just examples, also programers and devs are human so such things might be able to sell (though I see your point). Also I do buy computer supplies (which I would say would be targeted and sell) any extra money I have I save (for the past three years I have been saving(rainy day prep)) but I almost have enough of a 'stockpile' so I would by from advertisers. Also advertisers could show products that are not sixty dollars (yearly price) so if I but x amount of goods under sixty dollars it would be more than nothing for them so would be a profit making venture, but for this to happen and not be just hypothetical, you, the owners, have to see ads as a possible venture that would be benificial :). Thanks for clearing up my other questions though love the site (maybe not so much when I get to watch only the first video though :)). :)
