Exists an online free service in http://www.uptimerobot.com/

This service is very simple: You register your site and they try access this each 5 minutes, if they have a problem, you receive a report in email.

I think so this is a good idea xD

Dude, I dont know.

I think so the problem it's freedns. Perhaps change to godaddy to manage domain will fix this problem.
