does anyone know of any websites with good stuff on them. I'm creating
my own which will be a resource site for shotokan students.
www.karateonline.org
I would appreciate suggestions on content etc.

the site currently has videos of many kata, articles on training etc
but any suggestions would be most welcome.

oh, by the way, please visit my website.

Hi Gary

Many thanks for your invitation. I have now added one of our clubs to the website and added a small message to the guest book.

We are only limited to adding one club to the database, but I do understand your reasons for limitation in this way

Kind regards

Rod Butler

I was unaware of any limit on the number of clubs a person can
register, i will look into changing this because many clubs exist which
could be registered by one person. Thanks

Hi Karate on Line.

You are most welcome to use  http://www.karate-london.co.uk/enoeda.html

This is the link for the Sensei Enoeda book. The late Sensei Enoeda was one of the most influential instructors around and the book covers the history of his karate life.

Please feel free to use any of the text below on your website.

Kind regards

Keinosuke Enoeda

Tiger of Shotokan Karate

You can find out what made Enoeda one of the world's most successful instructors and you can discover just how he created such a loyal following of students throughout the UK and worldwide.

'KEINOSUKE ENOEDA~TIGER OF SHOTOKAN KARATE' is a high quality, large format book, 270mm x 210mm in full colour throughout, with contributions from some of the worlds top instructors as well as hundreds of fantastic pictures never seen before.

"IF YOU HAVE EVER TRAINED WITH SENSEI ENOEDA YOU WILL WANT THIS BOOK. IF YOU NEVER TRAINED WITH SENSEI ENOEDA, YOU NEED THIS BOOK"

'Keinosuke Enoeda ~ Tiger of Shotokan Karate' Read on, and see what the world is saying about this full colour publication.....

Mark Groenwald - Japan.......'Karate the Japanese Way'........"Enoeda was very fortunate to have such a devoted student as Rod Butler. I think that every high ranked karate instructor secretly wishes that they had someone like Rod Butler to create a strong testament to their lives. That is what this book really is. It is like a candle we would light in remembrance of those passed on before us, and Rod Butler has managed to articulately and eloquently express his impressions, experiences, and affections for a man who he has called “Sensei”.

Master Okazaki. ISKF in the USA ....."It is a very nice book and wonderful tribute to Enoeda. Congratulations on a fine work that will be a great source and addition to the library of all Shotokan karate-ka".

Master Hideo Matsui - Japan......"I glanced through the book and I was excited to find so many good old pictures, I will read the book this week".

Combat and Traditional Karate Magazine ..... UK..."It is obvious from the outset that this is a genuine labour of love; a publication that is infused with the quality and professionalism that one would associate with Enoeda and his karate. In terms of presentation the book is virtually flawless, benefiting from excellent layout and design and punctuated by high quality black and white and colour photographs. The photographs themselves provide a fantastic historical context for the text, featuring historical shots of Enoeda in Japan, at university, with his family and friends, relaxing and in action.

Jose Alberto Pinheiro...Karate-Do.net......Portugal......."This could well be a technical and chronological compendium of Master Enoeda's activity in the art of Karate, but it revealed to be much more than that. The pages of this very well written and brilliantly illustrated book [you will be amazed with the superb quality of the design and photography], Rod Butler opens us the door to the world of Enoeda. His life, personality and the impressions his powerful spirit carved on his friends and students, are accounted with an affection that could only be born from a truthful and lasting sense of admiration and respect".

Paul Willoughby....Maryland, USA..... "I just finished reading the chapter on the Marshall St. Dojo. This book is captivating. It really makes you feel like you know Mr. Enoeda. I am very sorry to not have met him. The one opportunity I had to travel to the Marshall St. dojo, he was away travelling. I still enjoyed training there. Good place - and OBTW, the description of those stairs is no exaggeration. Get this book. It'll be a collector's item.

Sensei Willy Ortiz.... Chief Instructor, Finland.... "Rod's book I read it in one day, no brakes, and I think Rod was very lucky to have been able to live during Sensei's transition from tiger to Master. All of this can be read in a very comfortable and easy to read narrative about a great Master. I was so enchanted with his style that I have asked him to work with me on a forthcoming book about the history of Shotokan karate. Not just one more book, but an enjoyable book".

Peter Lindsay....Victoria, Canada.... "Written by a fellow martial artist, Rod Butler who was himself graded to 4th Dan by Sensei Enoeda, this book is a must read for any Shotokan practitioner. So add it to your collection, read it more than once, and in doing so help celebrate the life of an irreplaceable icon, a valued and respected teacher, a good friend, a loyal husband, and beloved father. While those senior students with a few years of experience under their belt might better appreciate some of the subtle comments regarding what it was like training under Enoeda Sensei both in the dojo and on courses, this book should never the less still appeal to any Shotokan karateka".

Jon Keeling...Shotomag, USA...." Full of interesting stories of Enoeda Sensei’s public and private lives and including a multitude of pictures, this book is a fine tribute to the “Tiger”. The author was both a senior student and personal friend of this legendary Shotokan master and conducted many interviews and took many photos over the years that formed the foundation of this book".
