Highly recommended for anyone looking for a small, easy to use window A/C unit!
By Angela Reads
This is the first window air conditioner I've used in a long time - for a few years we had central air conditioning. This air conditioner is so much nicer than the older models I used in the past.
The older models were very big and heavy - this one is small - and even though it says you need 2 people to lift and install it, one strong person could probably install it if absolutely necessary. It is 12 inches high and 19 inches wide. The a/c units I used years ago were much louder than this one. This one is like a constant background humming but it's a nice relaxing soft humming, no rattles or loud noises.
I also like the mechanical controls instead of the digital ones that a lot of today's units have. Whenever possible I choose mechanical controls on appliances because the controls are simple to use and they seem to last longer than digital controls that have more parts that might break! Once this unit was in the window and plugged in it was easy to start it up in a second.
The box says it works for a room of 350 square feet or less. We put it in a room that is a little bit bigger. We installed it on a day that was near 80 degrees outside with high humidity. It immediately cooled the room by a couple of degrees and took the humidity out of the air. It seems to be working well for that room, and when we open the doors to other rooms of the house, the other rooms become less humid and more comfortable from this one air conditioner.
The unit comes with full instructions, screens for the sides of the air conditioner, and foam weatherstripping to seal the opening in the window after installation.
Bottom line is, this works very well to cool one room, and can even make other rooms more comfortable to live in by removing humidity from the air. It is small, fairly quiet, and very simple to use. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a small, easy to use, window A/C unit!

Such cooling power from such a little package
By Rick L. Parrish
Never judge they say and in this case they're right. This tiny (and it IS tiny) unit fit in my granddaughter's medium sized bedroom in no time (installation was a breeze) where she has a West facing wall and there's always a sharp up spike in temp around 4 in the afternoon til sunset and a 5,000 BTU baby wasn't cutting it at all. I must say I cannot believe even tho I've now experienced it - the fact that this unit puts out 8,000 BTU's and it does - believe me - when it is one third smaller than the unit I took out. Frigidaire has a winner with this one I can promise you. It's quiet too and it cools the room down in less than thirty minutes from hot. And it puts out 8,000 BTU's !!!! Worth the price which isn't that much higher than a good 5,000 unit.

Affordable cool and easy enough to install if you have some help.
By Raven A. Wind
First off, be sure: This thing's heavy and you WILL need someone to help you install it. Don't try it alone!
That said, I'm not sure how to really review an Air Conditioner. I mean, I guess I could say it makes the room cool, and that it does quite well. The controls are simple-- No crazy digital display here; This is just a straightforward pair of dials that anyone can handle. The air is crisp and doesn't smell funky. The install kit is nice and makes the unit sit in your window securely, while preserving a decent appearance.
It seems to do what it's made to do. It makes the room cool. I haven't used it all that much yet, as we're still experiencing cooler days up here in the northern portion of the United States right now, but in my testing it doesn't seem to have any major shortcomings.
The only reason I'm docking a star is because it does lack some of the finer features of higher-end AC units, such as programmable start times, but that's not really a failing of the unit so much as a feature that keeps this on the more affordable end of the spectrum. So what I'm saying is that this is a really good air conditioner unit, but it's not fancy. It gets the job done and will keep you cool.
