Hi folks,

Just taking a simple poll on the topic of pushing the edge pawn to create an escape hatch for the king when forming Mino Castle. I ask, because doing so rarely seems to help me escape a mate, and so I often forego making that particular move. Questions, comments, angry diatribes on point all welcome ;-)

In ibisha vs furibisha example:
Without pawn pushed, you need two generals for mate https://kifu.co/mEBL
With the pawn you need much more help.... https://kifu.co/PWKE

In double furibisha it.... depends mostly on whenever it helps your opponent by allowing/protecting edge attack.
For the same reason of edge attack risk, you rarely push it in anaguma castle.

Hi Matt,

I usually try to push the edge paw too in the Mino castle , but mostly it doesn't work out well for me either!
