Dear Shogiplayers,
the European Shogi Championship & World Open Shogi Championship 2026 will be conducted at Paderborn, Germany, August 6–9, 2026.
Registration is now open at https://shogideutschland.de/wosc2026/
Register until May 31, 2026 for the reduced Early Bird rates!
There will be numerous events:
The European Shogi Championship (ESC) for Europe’s top shogi players, which is integrated as usual into the WOSC.
The World Open Shogi Championship (WOSC) for players of all nationalities and playing strengths.
The Rising Dragons Cup (RDC) open to all players with an Elo rating below 1460 as an alternative to the Dan-dominated WOSC tournament.
The Team tournament on Thursday and the Blitz tournament on Thursday evening.
The Kishin Tournament on Friday is played by eight players that qualified on the ShogiWars app. The qualification event is the "12th Shogi Wars Kishin Tournament in Europe Qualification Round", on April 7 and June 2, at 12 UCT.
