Hi all,

When I export my texts to rtf the alignment is out. This is because I
have unicode characters in my texts and it seems that Toolbox can deal
with them to maintain alignment, but in the export there is one space
less after each unicode character. Short of using an xml export to
capture the alignment, does anyone have any suggestions about
something I may be doing wrong in the export?

Thanks,

Nick

I wonder if maybe you do not have "Align fields using tabs" checked in
the
export. If you use that option, the rtf file sets a custom set of tabs
for each
interlinear group and uses tabs between words and morphemes to make
them line up. That usually works fine in unicode. But if you do not
use that
option, then the extra bytes in some unicode characters can cause the
lack of alignment you describe. If you are using the tabs option, but
still
having trouble with alignment, then try increasing the "Spacing"
number.
If spacing is too low, then sometimes the tab settings don't allow
enough
space for a word or morpheme, which causes the tab to miss the correct
tab stop and go to a later one.

I wonder if anyone has an XSL sheet that takes the XML output of an interlienarised text file and makes it it into a formatted (and aligned!) rtf file? Just hoping!

I could have one but I don't since we don't work much with RTF.
