Hi,
I was wondering if someone could help me with a question...
Every time I try to export from Toolbox (doesn't matter which format),
it comes up with an error message and closes. Does anybody know why
this might be, and what I can do to fix the problem?
Thanks very much,
Naomi

Hi Naomi,

What's the error message that you're getting? It could be a problem of
not having all the files required for export in the appropriate folder
- at least that's what often happens to me.

Dear Naomi,

The fact that the format doesn't matter makes me wonder if it is the
crash that we have begun seeing with some new machines. This crash
occurs whenever the Filename dialog box opens, whether for New, Open,
Save As, Export (if you haven't specified the name as "overwrite
without asking" or if you use the Browse).

So one question for you is this: If you specify the filename and check
the "Overwrite without asking", does it still crash? This isn't an
option with the MDF export, but the RTF and SF and XML exports offer
it.

The first machines to have this problem were the Dell Latitudes. We
have a note on the website about it (which I can't access right now
for some reason). It's under Techniques, then under Tips. Someone else
reported the problem on an ASUS EEE, which I have without any
problems, but she is using a feature I hadn't gotten around to
installing.

We are working on this problem! If you don't have a Dell, I have some
(admittedly kludgy) workarounds that will let you continue using
Toolbox. Let me know.
