不打算买厂商支持的话，不建议使用vmware

在没有授权的情况下，虚拟windows，建议使用KVM

在没有授权的情况下，虚拟linux，建议使用xen，如考虑到需要降低管理维护和学习成本，建议使用kvm。

我前面去查了一下，XEN原来是IBM投入支持，没想到被收购了，而且赞助windows弄了hyper-v
所以现在IBM，intel都开始支持KVM，RH也是KVM最大的支持者。

VMware的话，付费，功能比较多而且还有很多外设的软件，包括vmware workstation用用还是挺方便的。

KVM在I/O性能上不错，hyper-v在windows下跑 windows虚机性能最好。

还是需要大神来顶乾坤啊

hyper-v  是微软的东东，在windows上面还是用它自己的东西性能比较好。

Xen：半虚拟化技术，相当于自己运行了一个内核的实例。但是分pv和hvm，就是支持Linux和windows。优势在于内存独占，虽然小但是保证分配的到。

KVM：和xen类似，比xen更好的一点是，kvm是完全虚拟的，所以不分pv和hvm的区别。

VMWare虽然烂，但却是18M的大患，POWER的克星，Intel的救星。

就冲这点也该投钱给KVM

红帽不是开源了 oVirt, 另外一大堆 openstack, cloudstack

现在感觉有商用的，还是比较靠谱，出了问题可以有人顶锅。
用opensource的东西，做好了，省钱了，那是应该的，做不好，那是失职，KPI地统统刮掉。

kvm最高，另外操作系统级虚拟化可以玩lxc，效果足够好^_^

前幾天看paper——Xen and the Art of Virtualization

個人無責任總結：Xen最早做的時候Intel/AMD的CPU（i386/amd64）還不支持硬件虛擬化，所以最早是Paravirtualization，guest的內核需要修改。當時做的人好像還和微軟有些關係，還嘗試過修改Windows
XP的內核，結果發現Windows XP需要修改的地方比Linux多得多……然後支持Windows的計畫貌似就沒有然後了……

再後來Xen項目的歸屬有變化，被Citrix收購，現在因爲x86的CPU有了硬件虛擬化，所以Xen也支持了全虛擬化，也能支持Windows的guest了……

Xen項目還是開源的，但是Citrix有其他產品的名字也帶有Xen比如XenServer……

突然想到一个问题，三个虚拟机之前的通信效率如何？
一台机器上起了2个虚拟机，一个跑WEB，一个跑数据库
WEB要从数据库上交互数据，这就牵涉到虚机和虚机之间的内部通讯，这个效率有人对比过么

KVM有VirtIO，不只是磁盘的，也有网卡的，这个效率还是很不错的(VirtualBox也有VirtIO的网卡部分的移植版本，但是磁盘是没有的)。
