Hi again,

Maybe this is in the API docs and I'm missing it...

Is there a way to shout using the API?  If so, what are the required fields to set?

thanks,

John R.

Hey John,

The "shout" call can be found in the Places section of the documentation, because a person must shout from a specific place.  The API call must be made as a PUT to:

https://v0.api.shizzow.com/places/{places_key}/shout

You can also send an optional PUT parameter of {shouts_message}, which may be up to 255 characters in length.

If a user is shouting through an oAuth-enabled application, Shizzow will record the application that is used to shout and will display that application within the shout output.  You may add your Shizzow oAuth application at http://www.shizzow.com/applications/add

Let me know if I can help in any other way.

Cheers,
Ryan

John,

I seem to recall your last question being iPhone-related.  If this is as well, you may be interested in [ShoutManager sendShoutFromPlace:withMessage], and the supporting [ShizzowApiConnection callUri:usingMethod:withDelegate:withBody].  Let me know if this helps at all.

Cheers,
-Bill

Thanks Bill,

I've got my shouts and subscriptions working fine, however I had to implement allowsAnyHTTPSCertificateForHost to get around certificate problems.  Did you encounter this?

BTW:  What is this shizzup client?  Looks interesting.  Shizzowing is only part of the app I'm working on.
