Ryan,

What's the max length of a shizzow tag?

Also, why, when I create a tag, is it *my* tag? Everyone can see it,
right? And everyone can edit it? Or not?

Thanks
Sue

Hi Sue,

Tags may be up to 64 characters in length.

Here are the basic rules we defined for tagging people and places:

For people tags - People may not add tags for other people, only for themselves.

For places tags - People may add tags for any place.  People may add multiple tags for a place, but may only add the same tag for a place once.  People may edit and delete the tags they have added for a place, but may not edit or delete the tags that other people have added for that place.  Anyone can see the tags added for a place, but cannot tell who added the tags for that place.

We want people to take ownership of their tags.  If I tag a restaurant, "crappyservice", the restaurant manager should not have the right to manipulate the tags that others have added, even if they are overly biased or even in some cases wrong.

Thanks, Ryan.  That all makes sense. Except that if anyone tags my restaurant 'crappyservice' I will want to know their address... ;)
