Shabbat Shalom!

(In addition to the more philosophical bent taken in the preamble their are several nuggets that are subjected to halakhic controversy among rishonim regarding how a tnai works that warrant some attention in this week's shitat hashavua.  For those who have time and interest, check out the magid mishna in hil' ishut 7:23 for the other side of the coin.  In the end it might come down to whether a tnai is perceived as a distinct instrument in a transaction or as an embedded component of the main ma'aseh.)
