Hello parents/guardians,
In less than two weeks we will begin Spring Crew training on the river! THANK YOU so much to everyone who signed up to volunteer as bus chaperone. The response has been great. We still have dates available without a chaperone assigned. If you could please take the time to review the remaining dates on the Sign Up and volunteer when you are able, it would be greatly appreciated. It makes for the best training experience to be able to practice right on the river.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

David and I typically pick up Scott from the river and can drop kids at the train if needed after practice.

I work every day except Tuesdays and Fridays, and since we live in media, I may rely on Rowan taking train home on my work days and driving him directly home on Tuesdays and Fridays. Happy to drive anyone home local to us on my days off.

Joy, thanks for setting this up. Since I reached out about Center City Transportation, I received lots of responses about different kids going different places. We should really know who is going where so the bus chaperone has an idea of who should be on the bus.

Scott takes the bus to the river, but does not take it back. If that changes for any reason, Scott will let the bus chaperone know. David and I can do pretty much every day. We can hold up to 6 kids in our car for pickup and can drop anywhere in Center City. I know there are others who can do Center City as well. I don’t want this to get too confusing, but perhaps we can do a Center City Schedule. What do you think?

Just a quick note - if anyone will not be on the bus on any particular day(s), they need to let their team captains know.  Then the parent on the bus works with the team captain.   Much easier!

Hi Mark,
Thanks so much for the idea. I learned, as one of the other parents noted, that the captains keep up with who will be on the bus and who will not be returning on the bus. The rowers are pretty good about letting them know before they leave. So the chaperone doesn't carry that responsibility.

As far as a carpool registry, I'm not sure how to go about that but if someone would like to create one for those going to center city/Suburban Station separately, feel free to do so if it's okay with Tom.

Thanks,
Joy Stewart

Good morning everyone,

My name is Mandy Chan, I am the local coordinator for our Chinese students and their host families. One of our 9th grade girls will be in the Spring crew training as well, but we are having issues with her after practice transportation arrangement. Her host mom only available to pick her up Monday and Thursday, the rest of practice days she need to take Uber back to her host parent's home at St Davis near Wayne....but her parents prefer she is not using Uber. I am reaching out to the community to see if it's possible to find a car pool solution from other parents also live by the area, who can help drop her off after the practice. We can also compensate your time and gas expenses since her parents are very worried.......

Please let me know if anyone can help with the car pool.

Thank you very much for your help and consideration!
