[GMZC] passing of Daido Roshi (fwd)

I don't know how many people knew John Daido Loori Roshi, but I thought
this would be news to some people. As for me, I met him when I stayed
at Zen Mountain Monestary for several months in 2004, and he made a lasting
impression on me. He will be missed.

Dear Sangha,

I learned this morning that Daido Roshi passed from this realm at 7:30 am. He
was a Dharma brother and dear friend. I am deeply sad at his passing.

Many of you have met him at Zen Mountain Monastery, here in Colorado or other
places. Or you might know him from his numerous books. He has been an
important figure in American Zen and will be missed. Shugen Sensei will take
over a general abbot of the Mountains and Rivers order and the New York City
Zen Center and Ryushin Sensei will be abbot at Zen Mountain Monastery,. Daido's
Dharma will be carried forward.
