ear groups,
We finally got it all together - the TV, the DVD/VHS player and the cart. I'm thinking of having our first movie this coming Saturday night, Dec. 19th at 7 p.m. at our room at All Saints. Here's the movie review....
THE CATS OF MIRIKITANI "Make Art Not War"
74 minutes
Eighty-year-old Jimmy Tsutomu Mirikitani survived the trauma of WWII internment camps, Hiroshima, and homelessness by creating art. But when 9/11 threatens his life on the New York City streets and a local film-maker brings him to her home, the two embark on a journey to confront Jimmy's painful past. An intimate exploration of the lingering wounds of war and the healing power of community and art, this film has won awards at some 20 festivals, including prizes at Tribeca, Tokyo, Quito, Bologna, Durban, Galway, Seoul, and Lyon.
All are welcome! However, is this a good time given the upcoming holiday? Please respond if you and your group are interested or we should wait till January. We have a microwave and can make microwave popcorn if anyone is interested...
