Greetings and Namasté to All –

I wanted to let you all know that our dear friend, Prajwal, who is a Buddhist Ritual Dancer from Kathmandu, will be performing as part of the

St. Louis Festival of World Sacred Music
Saturday, October 17, noon to 7 pm
Union Avenue Christian Church, at 733 Union Blvd, just north of Delmar.
Tickets:  $15 for adults, $12 for Students and Seniors, $8 for Children 12 and under.

We have tickets at both MacroSun locations, 1310 Washington Avenue downtown (just w of Tucker, 2 blks East of City Museum), 421-6400, and In the Loop at 6273 Delmar, (across from the Tivoli), 726-0222.

Note that Prajwal is one of the few Buddhist Ritual Dancers in the world,  and has been a close friend for over 15 years.  The dance he performs embodies tantric deities, and is really a meditation, not a “performance”.  He will be joined by sitar master Ustad Imrat Khan, gospel singers, Native America flutist John Two-Hawks, and many others. . .  The event is orchestrated by the wonderful Gitana Productions, a local cross-cultural organization.

For more details of the event and those performing to http://www.synergy-pr.com/press/GitanaProductions/24/807/0

For more on Prajwal (it is an older article), see http://www.macrosun.com/article_info.php?articles_id=2

Attached is a picture of Prajwal during one of the tantric Buddhist dances.  And there is also a flyer attached.  I hope both of these came through ok and are clear.

We’re hopeful that this will become an annual event in St. Louis, and we sincerely appreciate your support.  Also, please pass this on to anyone that you think might be interested.

Please join us!

Hi Kalen: It sounds as if this festival is right down my alley! My schedule has been much busier than I like, although I don't think my obligations are as all-consuming as yours have been lately. I miss seeing you a lot. Below are some things I need to catch up with you about:

1. Would coming over to have dinner with us (nothing special) or going out to eat while you are so busy be a blessing or another obligation? (When I'm extremely busy, especially if I am around people a lot, I just want to go home and be in silence. However, not everyone responds the same way.) Let me know. If we don't get together before your training is over, perhaps we can do it soon after. If there is any other way in which I can help you during a busy time, let me know.

2. I am working on music for Oct. 24 in the park. I understand that I will need about 10 minutes on bowls. If I need to know anything else, please let me know.

3. In addition, I am practicing flutes for Nov. 14. I'll need a sound system.

4. On Nov. 15, a friend and I are playing a small benefit concert (recorders/ harpsichord/ organ) for Room At The Inn at First Methodist Church on Bompart in Webster Groves. Be my guest, if you can. It begins at 1 PM (I think !!) and will last less than an hour.

5. At this point, I could play on Sunday for meditation on these dates: Nov. 29, Dec. 6, or Dec. 13. Let me know if one of these times works. Do you think I should do bowls or flutes?
6. I want to share an article from the New Yorker with you. It both saddened and moved me.

Best wishes, Lura
