Unhandled Exception Error

Hi all,

When deploying shiny app with shinyapps::deployApp()

I keep getting the following messages:

Preparing to deploy application...DONE

Uploading bundle for application: 57708...DONE

Deploying bundle: 249784 for application: 57708 ...

Waiting for task: 71373815

################################ Begin Task Log ################################ 

################################# End Task Log ################################# 

Error: Unhandled Exception: Child Task 71373817 error: Unhandled Exception: 

I already updated the libraries but it is still not working.

Sorry about the trouble you are having. The issue is almost certainly an issue on shinyapps.io. I noticed that there were some transient errors that occurred yesterday at that time.  Are you able to deploy right now or are you blocked?

Actually it is working again. Could you tell me what happened?

I think it is a good service but somehow intransparent to me.

I don't have all the facts right now, but from the errors I saw it looks like there was a storage issue of some kind that impacted us.   It was the weekend which further exacerbates the issue.  We will get to the bottom of it and see what we can do to make sure the system heals itself more quickly in the future.

I don't know how shinyapps.io scales, but might it be a problem that yesterday evening at 11:30PM UTC there was a deadline for a massive open online course at coursera that included a task to deploy an app to shinyapps.io?

Yeah, it was definitely related to the rush for last minute deployments, but I don't know what triggered it yet.  Thanks for the info Julian, we will get to the bottom of it to make sure future classes don't hit this issue.
