Let’s say i have a shiny app deployed that generates some output files (i.e.: the final output after running some kind of optimization problem). Is there any way for me to copy from the shinyapp server to my computer?

Thanks!

Hi Justin,
I would recommend you take a look at the following article: http://shiny.rstudio.com/articles/share-data.html  which we released the other day.  It talks about the different ways in which you can preserve your data across sessions.
We would appreciate any feedback you have on the article.

Best,
Tareef

Thanks Tareef! yeah I will try the Amazon S3 solution.  i had tried Dropbox a couple weeks ago, but the rDrop dropbox package in R is only in its very early stages and does not yet work with large files (anything more than about 10MB fails)

Hi Tareef,
Quick followup on this — it looks like i’m hitting errors trying to install this RAmazonS3 package.  Any ideas as to why?  I’m using R 3.0 which seems reasonable these days… what version did your team get it working with for your blog post?

Hi Justin

Installing straight from github has worked for me before:
devtools::install_github('RAmazonS3', 'duncantl')
