Hi,

I'm developing an app that no longer seems to work on shinyapps.io (see below for details). The app works as expected when I run it locally on my computer. I had it working last night on shinyapps.io, this morning I woke up, changed two lines of code, redeployed the app, and now it seems to be having issues. I have also tried rolling back to the version I had working last night, and re-deploying that version on shinyapps.io but I still encounter the same issue.

Specifically, the issue seems to be that instances have trouble loading js and css files stored in the www directory. The javascript console in Google Chrome yields the message 'Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error)' error for several files (I have attached a screenshot below).

A post on SO (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/26110445/shinyapps-io-failed-to-load-resource-the-server-responded-with-a-status-of-500) indicates that this might be occur if the total memory required to run the app exceeds a certain threshold. However, the proposed solution of changing the allocated size to 'xlarge' or 'xxlarge' does not work for me. But even if the changes between last nights' version and this morning's version pushed the total memory required above some limit, and even if 'xlarge' and 'xxlarge' are not available for a free user, I would have expected rolling back to the previous working to have fix. I have also tried copying the directory, removing  .git folder, and redeploying from the new directory in case the .git folder was getting uploaded to shinyapps.io and a change in the .git folder caused the total size to eclipse a threshold, but this did not work either.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what's happening, and if there were any changes at shinyapps.io during the last 15 hours or so?

Cheers,

Jeff

Apologies, I forgot to include the shinyapps.io log file (now attached).

Jeffrey,

Are you still seeing the problem? I loaded your application and played with a little bit, but couldn't reproduce the problem. Please let me know what actions results in error, and we will take a closer look.

About the change of instance size, we are looking into that issue as well.

Sorry for the inconvenience,
Fereshteh
