Todd,

Are you running the latest version of the shinyapps package? Can you try reinstalling the package from GitHub?

I have tried deploying other apps but I still get an error.

Todd,

The problem appears to be there is a file in your application directory called Icon^M, this file has a control character is its name which is causing the problem. You need to rename or delete this file.
