Dear developers! Thank`s for a useful tool first.

I was properly setup and run all requested components. All work fine (at a beginning).
After that, I am unplug Internet connection and see, that WebGL application does not work (web samples do not show 3D component).
Is it a bug or fich?

With best regards,
Roman.

Please say, may I use shiny-server with RGL without connection to cdn.sockjs.org? Now it (shiny+rgl) does not work without Internet.

Hi Roman, we're aware this is a problem for some and hope to fix it in a future version. Thanks for the report.

I'm not sure, if this is really a good idea, but I could circumvent this issue by downloading http://cdn.sockjs.org/sockjs-0.3.min.js to my local webserver und changing this address to my local webservers in lib/node_modules/shiny-server/R/SockJSAdapter.R.

Regards
Thomas

Yes, you could certainly do that.

Dear all,
using still shiny-server 0.3.0 (as some browser in our company environment does not like to work with 0.3.5) I am facing the same issue that some computers are not able to connect to http://cdn.sockjs.org... ..... Therefore I like your (internal) approach, but I was not able to find the sub-directory "lib/node_modules/shiny-server/R/SockJSAdapter.R".
I am using the default configuration.

Do you have any hint for me?

Thank you very much
Jürgen

Hallo Jürgen,

the subdirectory is in /usr/local on my machine, but that probably depends on your OS (Centos 5.9 here)

Jürgen, please let me know what browsers work with 0.3.0 but not 0.3.5--it wasn't our intention for any browsers to be broken between those versions. Thanks!

Hi Joe,

I am quite sure that the difference is linked to our new coporate installation. We are in the course to switch from XP to W7 and thereby the rules for Internet connections might be changed.

In another post I was asking about differences between IE 8 and IE 9 with respect to the Shiny Server version, but I assume that this was also caused by the different installation setups.

Thank you very much Thomas for your hint. I will try to go for that.

Best regards,
Jürgen

Hello Thomas,

I found the file on Ubuntu 12.04 ... (in another sub directory /usr/lib/node_modules.....)
Thanks

Is there a possibility to point to the js-file directly through src="/scripts/sockjs-0.3.min.js" instead of src = "http://....../sockjs-0.3.min.js". My first attempt was not successful. (I have copied&pasted the js script into notepad, stored it into /usr/shiny-server/www/scripts/ and edited the RSockAdapter.R file, perhaps this is not the way to do it)

Any hints for me ?

Thank you very much, Jürgen

Hello Joe,

do you have any news with respect to the "internet-access-free" use of sockjs-0.3.min.js?

Best regards,
Jürgen

PS. Shiny is really a very nice tool !

Yes, it is implemented and will be part of the next release of shiny-server.
