Rstudio stop button not always available

After I have been running runApp() for a while, I notice that the stop button in rstudio disappears, and the menu item will not terminate the server.
At this point I usually restart Rstudio.

I have noticed this too. For me, it's there until I download a file from the web, then it disappears.

Are you using the latest version of RStudio? With the latest, the stop button may disappear but Esc key in the console or the menu item should both continue to work anyway.
