How to host a shiny application over INTRANET/LAN ?

I want to host a shiny application which can be accessed to only people connected to my network. How can you do this?

I also want to know if this is possible with both a Windows and a Linux system.

You would do this today with Shiny Server (which is only available on Linux) simply by hosting it on a machine/network interface/port that is only visible to people in your network. Sorry if this sounds glib, but that's just how network security works: it is the job of routers, firewalls, iptables, etc.
