I have set up the shiny server on AWS running on Ubuntu Server 12.04 LTS with the 64-bit version. in the example apps, how can I add a password protection for the output, just want to experiment with the example files.

Hi Narbeh,

This is a feature built-in to Shiny Server Pro. You can download a trial here: http://www.rstudio.com/shiny/server/

And here's a step-by-step guide to configure the server to require users to login to an application: http://rstudio.github.io/shiny-server/latest/#require-user-authentication-on-an-application

Let us know if you have any trouble!
Jeff

Thanks Jeff, managed to Goole my way to find that, I am having a tougher time with getting shiny and rCharts to work.
Keeps throwing errors. It works locally but using it in my AWS instance, it fails. Any thoughts would be appreciated. cheers.

Sadly, I'm not an rCharts expert. May be worth posting in a separate thread or in an rCharts mailing list (should one exist...).

Sorry about that! Glad you were able to get authentication working.
