Assalaam o aleikum,

Yesterday I received the following from Greave House Farm at Stocksbridge.

Would any SHINE people be interested in helping at the work day?

We usually have a fun day,10.00am - 4.00pm, with a shared meal (outside if the weather is kind).Just a couple of hours is welcome if the whole day is too much.
It is a lovely spot with long views, high on the hill near Bradfield.

"Hello friends and supporters, It's lovely and sunny here today and the daffodils are on their way!

Our next work day will be on Saturday 10th March.  We are taking delivery of 420 hedgerow trees next Tuesday from The Woodland Trust and also 10 fruit trees from Community Forestry so there will be lots of tree planting to do.  There's also lots of other jobs, especially as our last work day was cancelled:  cleaning out the polytunnel, sifting soil into a new raised bed, transplanting raspberries, clearing ground, washing plant pots, helping to prepare lunch to name but a few!

In fact we are thinking of having an extra work day, there's so much to do.   we'll let you know.

There's still no news on the Lottery front, so don't uncross those fingers just yet!

Everything's on track for the Bee Buddy scheme and we will be getting the five hives and colonies in April. Myself and Debbie (bee buddies) will also be going on the 3 day intensive course week commencing 30th April.  If anyone is interested in finding out more about beekeeping, Groundworks are running some free taster sessions..  I went on one last year and found it really interesting.  even if you'll never keep bees yourself, the sessions are great for finding out more about these fascinating creatures.

As usualy, please let us know if you are coming to the work day so we can have enough lunch.

Best wishes

Barbara"
