Hi All
Giving updates about some of the upcoming Himalayan treks:
Rupin Pass (15,250 ft) 12 Sep, 25 Sep, 26 Sep. Rs 9250 per person. 6
days
This is a trail that’s hardly been trekked on. It is a thrilling trek
full of adventure. The feeling of accomplishment when you are on top
of the Rupin pass is rarely managed by other treks. The trek is full
of surprises. So sudden are the changes in scenery that it makes you
always walk a little further just to see if there is another surprise
round the corner.
What’s intriguing is why many hikers don’t do this trail. Many
trekkers who did the trek this June said it was the most memorable
trek of their lives. Some rated it even better than the Roopkund trek.
Here is a photo story from one of the trekkers of the June groups

Hampta Pass (14,300 ft) 5 Oct, 10 Oct. Rs 8450 per person. 5 days
Rarely do the Himalayas present a trek for beginners that pack in
everything – easy access, dark pine forests, open meadows, glacial
valleys and an adventurous crossing of a pass that leaves the heart
pumping. The Hampta Pass trek in Himachal is tailor made for beginners
looking to experience high Himalayan adventure.
It is a trek that comes built in with bonuses for the beginner. And
there are many. The first would be its easy access – you start the
trek from Manali town – unlike most treks that start from a remote
village. Two, you can add on an exciting day long trip to Chandratal a
high altitude alpine lake – its deep blue colour is a rarity (at the
end of the trek). Add to this the return jeep journey over the Rothang
pass and it is almost like experiencing two treks at one go.

Roopkund (15,500 ft) Groups all September. Rs 8550 per person. 6 days
It is easily the most popular trek of Indiahikers. And it is not
surprising to guess why. The trail takes you to Ali and Bedni bugyal
-- India’s largest high altitude alpine meadows. Such is the natural
beauty of the twin meadows that many trekkers stand speechless when
they first step into the meadows. When you think that the trek can’t
better, Kaluvinayak with its 360 degree view of Himalayan peaks and
the alpine camp site of Bhagwabasa sets the right tone for a thrilling
climb over snow to Roopkund. And a lucky few who make it to Junargali,
the razor sharp ridge over Roopkund, are truly blessed to find nothing
stands between them and Trishul, the first 7,000 meter summit to be
climbed by man.
