We have about 8-10 tickets to close before we push this puppy out the
door:
http://shiftspace.mycodebasehq.com/shiftspace/tickets?query=status%3Aopen+milestone%3ADeveloper+Alpha.
The Developer Alpha will be basically feature complete with 0.16. This
is a big deal. We started the CouchDB+Python migration about 4 months
ago and it’s been a surprisingly smooth ride. The CouchDB choice seems
to particularly wise in light of the new high profile projects using
CouchDB at Ubuntu and Mozilla.
Moving forward after this milestone you’ll be seeing more regular
releases as we get the 1.0 features in. We’ll shoot for a 2 week
Developer Alpha release cycle. Upon 1.0 feature parity, we’ll go into
feature freeze and focus only on bug closing.
Once the obvious bugs are closed we’ll do a User Beta while we
investigate converting ShiftSpace into a real Firefox .xpi. I imagine
this to be about a month of focused investigation/work.
If all goes according to plan we might take over the world in March or
so ;)
