Hello

I have a question about the sediment discharge results produced through SHETRAN using easy set up. When i open them in HDF view, the table gives value of sediment discharge in kg/s for 1 day in four directions N,S,E and W. If there is a negative value for , for example South face, like 0, -0.104198195, 0, 0.019829657. What does negative value for sediemnt discharge rate means? And is there a way to get  mean daily discharge values for the entire data set used for simulation in the form of a table or a notepad file because when I export data to a text file, it exports the values for only that one particular day.

Hi Zainab,

Try this executable in my Dropbox.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/y1ykawv92kzczur/sv4.4.5x64.exe.zip?dl=0

Replace the existing sv4.4.5x64.exe with this one. This produces two additional files "sed-all-daily-output.txt" and "sed-fine-daily-output.txt" which should be what you want. The timestep in this file (e.g hourly or every 24 hours) depends on the value at the end of the frd file (although the names of the file do not change)
:FR52 - OUTPUT DISCHARGE TIMESTEP(HOURS)
  24.00
Generally in Shetran +ve values are in the north and east direction and -ve values south and west. So why you have a negative and positive I am not sure. Do this happen throughout the time series or just at the start?

I hope this helps. If not then let me know.

Regards,
Steve Birkinshaw

Thank you Steve for providing the new executable file. As for the N,E,S,W direction values, most of the times I get 2 negative and 2 positive but sometimes there is one negative and the rest of them positive. That's the reason I got confused at the first place. Thanks again.
