Dear Steve,

I have managed to generate SHETRAN output using the GUI version 2.101 running on Win10, however I have come to use it on a different sub-catchment and cannot get the model to run.

The error states something about not being able to find the river_network.... . txt file. I don't understand this as this isn't an input file?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
James

UPDATE - I just created a blank text file with the same name that the model was looking for and it didn't encounter an error. However the Simulated discharge file is empty - no data. I'd assume if there was no discharge predicted, then the output would have 0's for each of my modelled time steps. I have managed to generate output before and really don't understand what is going on... See attached project.

Many thnaks,
James

Hi James,

Sorry for the delay I have just returned from holiday.

Thanks for sending the detailed explanation of the problems and the files you have been using. I have just tried it with these files and it runs perfectly. My first thought is that the river_network.... . txt file might just have too long a name and that is causing the problem, The full file names have a maximum limit of 200 characters and this file name including all the folder names might be just over this limit. Can I ask you to try running the files in a folder with a shorter name and let me know if there are still problems.

Thanks,
Steve

Steve, thanks for your reply!

Yes, I gave the files to a colleague and they ran OK as well. I think my filing was causing the issue. I am now doing the processing out of a different folder and it works fine.

Thanks for the help!

Cheers,
James
