Starting up fresh and new to Sherpadesk

Folks

I'm the new director in our district as well as with Sherpadesk and I'm setting up first time help desks in our high school and middle school.

I'm trying to create a simple easy process for students to

• Swap their assigned device with a loaner whenever
  • damaged
  • not functional
  • needs a charge

I want to populate the asset section first by uploading device(asset) info including owner (IT Department) and check out to (student) 

All assets have tags with unique #'s and all students will show up through our Google director integration.

So any recommendations on how to setup a help desk table with a computer and bar code scanner to make this work?
