SHERMAN ARTS NOW CALLED QUARTER INCH ARTS
************************************************************************
Sherman Arts was passed on to local Singer-Songwriter Emily Bate. She
was given access to
all my lists, facebook, myspace, etc.
It is being morphed into a new Promotions organization that will be
known as Quarter Inch Arts
Here is Emily's contact if you want to book a show or have any Sherman
Arts related questions.
She has booked at a house venue called "The Mitten" for a few years,
and has toured and played locally for
a few years. She is pretty much the perfect person I had imagined to
take over this work. Feel free to
contact her at
bate....@gmail.com
If you have any good show opportunities she could use them
to help build her reputation as a promoter.

LOOKING FOR LOCAL MUSIC & MUSICIANS FOR PIFVA FILM NETWORKING EVENT
***************************************************************************************************************
What: Meet and mingle for filmmakers and musicians
When: February 10th, 6:00-8:30pm
Where: Johnny Brenda's, 1201 N. Frankford Avenue, http://www.johnnybrendas.com/
Presented by the Philadelphia Independent Film and Video Association
(PIFVA) and the Greater Philadelphia Film Office.

Back by popular demand! Come join us at PIFVA’s annual networking
event where Philadelphia’s independent media makers gather. This year
we’re connecting composers, musicians, bands and all others of a
musical persuasion with filmmakers looking for scores, cues or other
sound effects. Music from local composers will be played throughout
the evening, and filmmakers will leave with their ears buzzing.

This year’s special focus is on music but the evening is, as usual,
about mingling and the liberal exchange of business cards. From PAs
to producers, sound mixers to editors, composers to directors, this is
for media makers from all sides of the industry. Bring 40-50 business
cards, and remember, while speedcrewing is an informal networking
event you should be sure to have a thirty-second elevator pitch about
your work ready to go. Last year’s event drew over 120 people, and
that’s a lot of folks to introduce yourself to.

Our MC this year will be Rich Wexler, VJ & DJ extraordinaire, and
founder of Sherman Community Arts, an organization that promotes
community building through music, films, and arts events
(www.shermanarts.org).

*Note to Musicians: If you send us an mp3 in advance, we will be
mixing your music throughout the evening as well as creating a “cue
sheet” for filmmakers to follow up with you after the event. If
you’re interested, please email an MP3 file with 4 minutes or less of
your original music to cont...@pifva.org by 2/4. This can be an
edited compilation of several songs, just one composition, or a mash-
up or your work. Whatever you prefer, but in your email make sure to
include your name or company and your contact information.

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT MY LAST COMPILATION (ALL CREATURES)
**************************************************************************************************************
I am considering this my symbolic legacy since I am leaving Sherman
Arts to go to Grad School.
I'd love for this comp to be downloaded 500 times. That is my goal.
It's at 137 now. If you
ever felt that Sherman Arts has helped you out, I'd love it if you
could return the favor
and help spread the word on this.
