Two outstanding shows happening in the next few weeks: Sherefe at Festo Festo and the rare and incomparable Bulgarika at BIFD.
Festo Festo is always a blast. Last Thursday of the month (Sept 28), starts at 7 with Klezmer by Upsherin Upsherin, then Balkan by brass band Gora Gora, then special guest Sherefe - Greek, Turkish and more! Mercury Café Jungle room,

Friday October 6 a special Glendi-BIFD collaboration: Bulgarika! Potluck at 6 then dancing to touring Bulgarian band Bulgarika till 10 or so. Sodal Hall at the Avalon, 6185 Arapahoe Rd, Boulder. This is a rare treat, enhanced by a short performance by Denver area dance troupe Gaitani, and instruction in a special Hora by Stoyan Getsov. Don't miss this one!! $15 general admission, $10 BIFD members.
Bulgarika is master musicians Donka Koleva (vocals),Nikolay Kolev (gadulka), Temelko Ivanov (kaval), Nikolay Kodzabashev (tambura), and Marin Chalumov (tupan). Individual and group lessons available Oct 4 - 10. See Biz for details.
