This Thursday 8/27: Festo! Festo! With Barbelfish

Hello Folk Dancers and Live Balkan Music Lovers!

Just want to point out that this is an unusual Festo! Festo! in that this month's event is specifically geared for  folk dancing. The  three-band format that Festo Festo normally follows will make way for a night of dancing to Barbelfish (and you know that also means a night of listening to some stellar Balkan music).  Hats off to Tung and the rest of the Festo Festo leadership for all the work over the last several years to build an audience for traditional music and dancing in Denver.

This  gathering place, in Denver's Santa Fe arts district, offers interesting beverages, both with alcohol and alcohol- free, and everyone is encouraged to bring a potluck snack to share.  There is parking in a lot south of the Town Hall Collective and also on the street.

We know that that DAFD's long-term Thursday scheduling makes this a very tough choice if you are a Thursday night regular, but with Festo Festo having arranged a low-cost option for this week's event, I hope some of you can swing by the Barbelfish party on your way to the park. And please tell your friends who would enjoy the live music, even if they're not dancers; it should be a very fine night of music.  At the moment, Barbelfish's set list includes the following dances (might change by Thursday).
