Boulder International Folk Dancers (BIFD) will ring in the new year with a New Year’s Day with live music by Barbelfish, the evening of January 1 in Sodal Hall at the Avalon, 6185 Arapahoe Ave, Boulder, CO 80303.  

Barbelfish plays music from the Balkans and beyond. The evening’s program will include dances from Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Romania, and Macedonian and Serbian Rom traditions. 

Barbelfish members in this performance are Amy Self - clarinet, mandolin, guitar, kaval, vocals; James Hoskins - gudulka (Bulgarian folk fiddle), cello, bouzouki, zurna, vocals; Julie Lancaster - tambura, accordion, vocals; Jesse Manno - percussion, vocals; Steve Mullins - tambura, guitar, mandolin, bouzouki. They will be joined by guest singer Laura Osterman.
