Hey folks== some fun events happening now, and/or coming up. I'll
list them, then you can scroll down to find the particulars:
1) "River Story" -- a puppet-show/shadow play based on a Bulgarian
Fairytale,
as part of the Boulder Fringe Festival. w/ James Hoskins as the
musician. Four shows left including TONIGHT @ 8 PM. Also Friday,
and two shows on Saturday.
2) "Veelah" -- Your local Balkan-Brass-Band, which includes Jesse
Manno on drums, and James Hoskins on Trombone, is playing a house
concert
Aug. 23rd in Boulder. The name "Veelah" is actually from Bulgarian,
and means a magical woodland sprite/fairy like entity, and
coincidentally, a Veelah is central to the plot of "River Story"!
(We'll be playing in a lush yard next to Boulder Creek -- the perfect
environment for this even...!!)
3) Sherefe trio in concert -- Mediterranean music at the Trident Cafe
Sandlot series on Sept. 4th
4) Greek Festival -- Sherefe Trio will be back playing all Greek music
Sept. 11th,
12th at this year's 'Taste of Orthodoxy' Greek festival at the Jay Rd.
"St. Peter
and Paul Greek Orthodox church.
I'll put in some blurbs, and send out reminder's with more specifics
later as they
come up, but wanted to let people know to save the dates! Cheers:

1) River Story:
We are performing River Story, adapted & directed by Margarita Blush,
during
the Boulder International Fringe Festival. It's at the CU Natural
History Museum
on the CU Boulder campus-- located between the UMC and the Mary
Rippon
stage (access via Broadway, or the Ped. underpass at College and
Broadway).
River Story is a visually stunning puppetry performance for all ages
based on a
Bulgarian folk tale. The performance features beautiful hand-crafted
puppets,
masks, shadow theatre, live Bulgarian folk music, singing and folk
dancing.
Inspired by Bulgarian folklore and mythology, the show creates a
magical
atmosphere to invite the audience on a mythical and mystic journey.
The show is performed by Betsy Tobin, Lucia Rich, Margarita Blush-
and myself,
James Hoskins doing the music.
Showtimes left:
