Hey folks,
I (that's James) am playing with a host of fine folks tomorrow night--
(Sat. Nov. 14th) in Boulder for a GREAT cause!
Come dance, enjoy, listen, watch,... It's a FB event with the
subject in this msg. as the title, but here's the info
from Cameron Powers (original Sherefe member!),
the creator of these events:

Description:
Ancient music of Indigenous Middle East: Egyptian, Iraqi, Syrian!
We will create a mystical dance mood for your movement pleasure.
Lots of improvisation from our musicians who play oud, nay, qanun,
kawal, cello.
Ancient maqam music of the Arab world: something very sensuous,
something
different!
"I never heard that music before but it feels so familiar... like it's
in my DNA!"
At the last event I had a man tell me "This is the best music I have
ever heard in
my life."
Honestly this microtonal music opens new neural pathways in your
brain. Are
you ready? Some of these musical scales are thousands of years old.
Our bodies
and souls remember them even if our conscious mind has forgotten.
