Advance Tickets: $15 (At the door: $20)
Tickets:

Come join us for quiet time drenched in the vocal harmonies of Eastern Europe. No bright costumes, no amplification, no announcements, no applause (until the very end), just a smooth flow of some of the more reflective and soulful songs we know.
Starting 30 minutes before the concert, Planina member Kell Coulter will play solo harp as the audience settles in. Sit in traditional seating or bring pillows and mats to relax on the floor and engage in some deep listening and deep relaxing.
We in Planina are very excited about this concert, partly because the program includes some top favorites from our repertoire of 37 years as well as a few songs that are brand new to us, and partly because we have firsthand experience that this music can be
a balm to the spirit, and there’s a great need for that right now.
The program will include lullabies, laments, sacred songs, ritual songs, and love songs in Armenian, Bulgarian, Georgian, Old Church Slavonic, Polish, Russian, Slovak, Ukrainian, and Yiddish.
About the artwork . . .
The artwork used in our poster is "Empyrean Night Symphony II" by Kasia Polkowska, used by permission. Ms. Polkowska is a Polish-born artist living in Colorado. Learn more at her website,
https://www.kasiapolkowska.com. Thanks to Planina member Maitreyi Prajna for finding this image and reaching out to the artist.

Info...
BIFD says: “Join us as we get sentimental and dance to the classics! Barbelfish will make our evening extra special with a live music performance. Ethnic costumes welcome.” You are encouraged to bring snacks to share.
When they say “the classics,” they are not talking about Beethoven, nor hits from the ‘50s, ‘60s or '70s; they mean dances from the international folk dance repertoire that don’t get done so often these days. Think
Jove Malaj Mome,
Bučimiš, and
Ajde, Jano. Barbelfish will play Balkan line dances, many of which are easy to learn on the spot, and a couple of non-Balkan couple dances.
