At last Transition Network has updated its "Mulling" list - Shepton is
now on the map! However, the way they describe for putting a contact e-
mail address on it doesn't work for me - any ideas, or should I just e-
mail them and wait another month or two?
For the sake of completeness, here is the original e-mail I
received from them. Most of you will already have seen this, but I'll
put it here for reference:

Thanks for your note. I'm glad to hear that, thanks to people like
you, Shepton Mallet and beyond may be taking proactive steps to
mitigate the impacts of Peak Oil and Climate Change by designing its
own way down the energy descent. Exciting (and challenging) times
indeed!
By way of a quick update - Rob Hopkins and I recently founded the
Transition Network to build upon the groundbreaking work done by
Kinsale, Totnes and the other early adopters of the Transition model.
Our mission is to inspire, encourage, network, support and train
communities as they consider, adopt and implement a Transition
Initiative. We're building a range of materials, training courses,
events, tools & techniques, resources and a general support capability
to help these communities. It's early days, so we have a long way to
go. But we understand how massive the task is, and we're giving it
everything we've got. Recent funding from Tudor Trust has given us a
firm foundation for our work.
We'll get your community on the googlemaps on the next update.
I'm sending you a link to some essential reading - the Transition
Initiatives Primer will give you a sound understanding of the
transition process and the rationale behind it:
