Greetings in Christ, to my family in Christ! I can't wait to join in Fellowship with you tomorrow. I've enclosed the Bulletin. Please let me know if you see any typos or other corrections needed.
David Harrington will be lifting our Joins and Concerns up in Prayer so please send any you would like mentioned to him by call, text, email, or smoke signals. He may even know Morse Code. He is a very smart man.
As you prepare for attending church tomorrow, I encourage you to think about what Invitation means to you. Think about places you will only go to if you receive a formal invitation. Then think about a place you don't hesitate to go to anytime day or night and walk in the door without knocking.
For me, it was my Granny's place. I never once thought about knocking before I went in. I knew she would be happy to see me anytime, day or night. There would be sweet tea ready and more food than I could eat. I remember taking the best naps of my life as an adult on her bed. We would work the garden together, or fold laundry together or watch the news together. Notice I don't mention cooking with her because that was her domain. What I remember most, though, is how we talked and laughed together over everything, big or small. She always gave me her full attention when I was there.
Coming to spend time in God's House is like this. The door is always open to us. There will always be food for our souls and fellowship that grounds us. We know He will be excited to see us and spend time with us because we are loved unconditionally.
This is why I am excited to see you at church tomorrow, whether in person or on Zoom. Bring your weary bodies and souls and let God do His work in you.
