Hi,

As for me, it would be easier to implement something like that with wget (recursive downloading/mirroring) + simple shell script + OS scheduler + bookmarks autoexporting in FF. Wget has a lot of related options and you even don't need FF launched in this case.

Hi, I am interested in using Shelve to automatically archive all of my bookmarked links, in order to make snapshots of sites of interest through time. As far as I have searched there is no software or addon which can do this, and I consider it to be a fundamental feature - sites expire all the time, and you can't rely on archive.org to preserve bitmaps.
This might be a great feature for the developers to consider. Thanks

Hi,

Shelve to automatically archive all of my bookmarked links, in order to make snapshots of sites of interest through time.

What exactly are you trying to achieve? Monitor site changes? Maintain a history of snapshots to document a webpage's development?

I think too that there are better ways to do either than using your web browser. One exception might be javascript-heavy sites that don't render anything useful when downloading them with, e.g., wget. I personally would be surprised if there weren't any apps around for your use case. I don't think this should be done in your web browser though.

Regards.
