Hi!
Do you use footers? I was able to reproduce the problem when adding a footer to the saved document.
If yes, I frankly have no idea how to solve this problem except maybe with increasing the timeout.
If not, could you please post details on the shelf definition you use?
The page takes awfully long to load (it's Wordpress and quite a few plugins, it seems) and even more time to save to disk via "Save as...".

Hi!
It seems to me the problem was using the DOMContentLoaded event, which once seemed to be the right idea, instead of the "load" event. Using the "load" event seems to solve the problem. You could try the version from github (https://github.com/tomtom/shelve) to test this. I'll test it myself for a few days and then upload a new version.
