Hi,

I wanted to suggest an additional option for
"extensions.shelve.overwrite_files". It would be great to have a way
to number duplicate files with sequence numbers starting at 2. For
example, if I am saving a file with "filename" and then go to the next
page that happens to have the the same title/filename it would
automatically save it as "filename 2", and then "filename 3", etc.

I don't need this often, but some websites keep all the components I
use for a filename the same and sometimes one wants to keep all the
versions. I could add a full time stamp with seconds and milliseconds,
but most of the saved pages just don't need that verbosity. It would
be good to remember just the sequence instead.

Thanks in advance,
Alex

This has come up before. IMHO the problem isn't that trivial -- unless
it doesn't matter if there may be gaps between sequence numbers and if
they may start with any number. If a template's sequence number is
supposed to start with 1 or the highest number of filenames matching
that template plus 1, it becomes more complex and I currently only
have very little time for the shelve addon -- just enough for trivial
bug fixes. I'll put it on my list though.

Regards,
Tom
