How are people going to turn around? I am picturing cars stacking up with parents dropping off kids. There is a spot for maybe one or two cars to pull in at the very end, but if there are cars in there, I don’t know how you turn around or where people are parking. Maybe there should be a person there whose job it is to make sure that spot is only for turning around?
“320 Canal Street East” works in Google Maps for an address. I’ve never heard of anyone calling it “Canal Street East”, though, so that could be a point of confusion. I usually tell people it’s the north end of Canal Street (“300 Canal Street” also works). Here’s a trail map of the canal & locks http://www.sheltonconservation.org/recreation/maps/Canal%20and%20Locks.pdf

How about they drop them off at the Bridge or at the parking lot north of the Bridge across from New England Stair?
Anyways, the clean up went well yesterday, I'm sure Cheryl post
it soon.

Another option might be to meet at the Farmers Market and shuttle people down the street. The Housatonic River Cleanup shuttles people by boat up and down the river. Or pick up that entire street all the way down to the end. It’s half a mile from the Farmers Market to the end of Canal Street.

There is a Trails Committee meeting tonight and they will be setting up their regular work parties, which will be April 12 and 26 at 9:00 am. If they go ahead with the proposed plan of creating the Curtis Brook Connector below Pine Lake, that will include picking up an endless pit of litter and dumping, and Trails does try to get some of the SHS students. All their regular work parties are the second and fourth Saturday of each month at 9:00 am winter and 8:30 am summer. I think it’s a good idea to avoid scheduling cleanups during those times because then we are competing with each other for SHS students. If they go ahead with the Curtis Brook Connector plan, one option (if the cleanup this Saturday is canceled) might be to schedule a cleanup immediately after the trails work party so that students attending the trails work party can stay and attend the litter cleanup (students in April are often looking to maximize the number of hours they can get, since they need 10 hours by May 1 and have busy schedules).
