 TERESA:

I am forwarding you a letter received by the BOA and the Mayor.  I don’t n know why the Anti-litter Committee was not included.

My first thought was to ask you and the Anti-litter committee for your thoughts.  This letter contains some good suggestions but the BOA needs the Anti-Litter Committee input first. 

Could you please put this on your next committee agenda and send us your suggestions?

We know how hard your committee works and welcome working with you to develop some practical ideas and/or laws, if necessary.  It may be time for a different approach to this nasty and continuing problem.

Teresa,

I'm surprised it took this long for someone to send a letter like this to the Mayor.

I'm sure it will not be the last.

It's for the same reason we now have a full committee.

Growth in the town and habits have changed by residents and we need the town dept's cooperation to address the overall condition of town as it relates to litter.

Let's agree on suggestions we can respond back to BOA on and we can cover them off at the May BOA meeting also.

Hi all,

Did a call into Public works today ( Spoke to Nancy) with an ask to please have Public Works try to come out and clean up Nells Rock Rd which in areas is a complete disgrace and embarrassment with trash.

She noted that they are very down and short staffed and have no idea when/if they can come out.

Will add this comment when I speak/address the Board of Alderman meeting, along with noting the letter shared in this thread.

For next week's meeting, I'll have bullet points for us to approve in addressing the Alderman at their next meeting.

Thanks. And Mill Street! Half of Nells Rock and all of Mill Street are the two streets the Litter Committee has designated as too dangerous for volunteers, and also the source of a lot of complaints (on our Top Ten list).  Mill Street near Bridgeport Ave has been atrocious lately. And it was Shelton’s first official “scenic road” by ordinance.
